About this plant
Tineke is a variegated rubber plant with large, thick, glossy leaves marbled in green and cream. New leaves unfurl from a rosy sheath and often carry a blush of pink along the edges.
Bright, indirect light keeps the variegation bright; in lower light new leaves come in greener. Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry and let it drain. Wipe the broad leaves with a damp cloth every few weeks to keep them glossy. It dislikes cold drafts and sudden moves, so pick a spot and leave it there.
The small sizes start on a table. The larger pots are floor plants, and over time a rubber plant becomes a real indoor tree.
The ASPCA lists Ficus as toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
