About this plant
'Camille' is a compact dieffenbachia, or dumb cane, whose leaves are creamy yellow-white in the center and bordered in dark green. The bright centers make it look lit from within, even in a shadier corner.
Lower to medium indirect light suits it well. Water when the top inch of soil is dry, and let excess water drain away; soggy soil is the main thing to avoid. Wipe the broad leaves occasionally to keep them clean and glossy.
Choose a 3, 4 or 6 inch pot. It stays fairly compact, so it fits tabletops and shelves, and it is an easy plant for beginners.
The ASPCA lists Dieffenbachia as toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
