About this plant
The pink nerve plant has small, deep green leaves traced with a network of bright pink veins. It grows low and spreading, so it fills the front of a shelf, a windowsill or a terrarium with color.
It likes low to medium, indirect light and evenly moist soil. If it dries out, it lets you know: the whole plant flops dramatically, then perks up soon after watering. Try not to make that a habit, and water when the surface of the soil feels dry. It loves humidity, which is why it thrives in a terrarium, a bathroom or a kitchen.
Choose a 4 or 6 inch pot. A fun, colorful plant for a small space, and a sweet gift for a new plant owner.
The ASPCA lists the nerve plant (Fittonia) as non-toxic to cats and dogs.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
