Pot size guide

How big is each size?

  • 4" pot: about 6 to 12 inches tall, pot included

About this plant

Silver lace fern has delicate, finely cut fronds, each one silvery white down the center and green at the edges. The effect is light and lacy, and the plant stays compact, so it suits a desk, a shelf or a mixed planter.

Give it low to medium, indirect light and keep the soil evenly moist, never soggy. It enjoys humidity, so a bathroom, a kitchen or a pebble tray helps keep the fronds fresh. Trim older fronds at the base as they fade, and new silvery growth will replace them.

It comes in a 4 inch pot, a small, easy way to add texture and a touch of silver to a room.

The ASPCA lists table ferns (Pteris) as non-toxic to cats and dogs.

From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
