About this plant
'Gold Child' brightens the classic English ivy. Its lustrous leaves have three to five lobes, grey-green in the middle and rimmed with bright gold, and they grow along quick, easy vines that trail from a pot or climb a small trellis.
Bright, indirect light keeps the gold edges vivid; in dim light the new leaves come in greener. Keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy, and let the surface dry a little between waterings. A cooler spot suits it better than a warm, dry one, and an occasional trim keeps it bushy.
It comes in a 3, 4 or 6 inch pot. Lovely in a hanging basket, on a bookshelf or as a cheerful accent in a kitchen window.
The ASPCA lists English ivy (Hedera helix) as toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
