About this plant

The fiddle leaf fig grows large, stiff leaves shaped like the body of a violin, with pale veins that stand out against the deep green. It is the statement plant of many bright living rooms.

It needs plenty of light: bright, indirect light with a little gentle morning sun is ideal. Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry, then water thoroughly. It dislikes change, so choose a spot away from drafts and heat vents and keep it there. Dropping leaves usually mean it was moved, chilled or overwatered.

Give it a quarter turn now and then so it grows straight. The 8 inch size is a young floor plant that will keep growing taller for years.

The ASPCA lists Ficus as toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.

From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
