About this plant
The moth orchid is the easiest orchid to keep at home, and this one carries clean white blooms on arching spikes above broad, glossy leaves. The flowers can last for weeks.
Bright, indirect light is ideal; an east window is perfect. Water when the potting bark is nearly dry, usually about once a week, and let all the water drain away. Never leave the roots standing in water. Normal room temperatures suit it well.
When the last flower falls, trim the spike and keep caring for the leaves; with good light, a moth orchid reblooms. The small pots suit a desk or table, and the larger pot is a fuller, showier plant. A classic gift that lasts longer than cut flowers.
The ASPCA lists the moth orchid (Phalaenopsis) as non-toxic to cats and dogs.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
