About this plant

Philodendron 'Atom', also sold as 'Super Atom', grows glossy, wavy leaves with deep lobes that ruffle at the edges. It is self-heading, so instead of vining it builds a tight, rounded clump that keeps its shape on a tabletop or a low stand.

Give it medium to bright, indirect light; it will hold on in a dimmer spot but grows slowly there. Water when the top inch or two of soil is dry, let the pot drain, and empty the saucer. Wipe the leaves now and then to keep the shine.

Choose a 4 or 6 inch pot. It is an easy, forgiving plant for a first philodendron, and it brings a leafy, tropical look to a room without taking over.
