About this plant

'Whitney', also sold as Silver Flame, grows stiff, upright leaves in silvery green, crossed with dark green bands and edged in cream. Together they rise like a cluster of flames, which gives the plant real presence even at a modest size.

Like every snake plant, it tolerates low light and shrugs off irregular watering. It keeps its silver best in medium to bright light. Let the soil dry completely before you water, and water less in the cooler months. A pot with a drainage hole matters more than anything else.

It comes in a 6 inch pot, a good size for a side table or a wide shelf, and it is an easy choice for a first plant.

The ASPCA lists the snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) as toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.

From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
