About this plant
Mermaid tail is a crested form of Euphorbia lactea that grows in wavy, fan-shaped ridges instead of upright stems, so it looks like a piece of coral or the tip of a mermaid's tail. Colors range from soft green to silvery gray, and every plant has its own shape.
Give it bright light with some direct sun. Water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry, and keep it on the dry side in winter. A gritty, fast draining mix is a must.
It grows slowly and holds its sculptural shape, making it a natural centerpiece for a sunny desk or shelf. Handle it with gloves, since the milky sap can irritate skin.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
