Succulents and Cacti
Succulents and cacti store water in their leaves and stems, which makes them the plants for a sunny sill and a busy calendar. Give them the brightest window you have, a gritty, fast draining mix and a pot with a hole in the bottom.
Water deeply, then let the soil dry out completely before you water again. In winter, while they rest, they need even less. More of these plants are lost to too much water than to too little, so when in doubt, wait a few days. A south or west window suits most of them, and many enjoy a summer outdoors once the nights stay warm.

For the garden outside
Plenty of house plants spend the summer on the porch, and every gardener has a bed waiting outside. The Spear Head Spade starts the cut like a spear and finishes it like a spade. It is what our family business makes.
