About this plant
'Tropic Snow' is a dieffenbachia, often called dumb cane, with large, oblong leaves heavily splashed with cream and white over green. The leaves grow from a sturdy upright cane, giving the plant a full, tropical look.
It handles a wide range of indoor conditions. Lower to medium indirect light suits it; avoid direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves. Water when the top inch of soil is dry, and turn the pot now and then so it grows evenly.
Choose a 4 or 6 inch pot. It is a generous, easy plant for living rooms and offices that do not get much sun.
The ASPCA lists Dieffenbachia as toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
