About this plant
'Hurricane' is a bird's nest fern with personality. Its glossy, bright green fronds are smooth and undivided, and instead of standing straight they twist and curl in a whirlwind rosette. With no feathery leaflets, it never drops a confetti of tiny leaves on the floor.
Low to medium, indirect light suits it, which makes it good for rooms away from the window. It likes humidity, so a bathroom or kitchen is ideal. Water around the base of the plant when the top inch of soil is dry, and avoid pouring water into the center of the rosette, where new fronds form.
It comes in a 6 inch pot, a full, sculptural size that holds its own on a side table or plant stand.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
