About this plant

'Beauty Kim' is a variegated prayer plant, and every oval leaf is a little different: green, cream and white variegation layered with bold, darker markings. Like all prayer plants, it raises and folds its leaves in the evening, a bit like hands held in prayer, and opens them again by morning.

Bright, indirect light keeps the variegation strong; keep it out of direct sun, which scorches the pale patches. Keep the soil lightly moist, never soggy, and water before it dries out completely. It enjoys humidity, so a bathroom with a window or a pebble tray helps.

Choose a 3, 4 or 6 inch pot. It is a collector's twist on a familiar favorite and makes a memorable gift for someone who already loves prayer plants.

The ASPCA lists the prayer plant (Maranta) as non-toxic to cats and dogs.

From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
