About this plant
Peperomia 'Marble' grows thick, rounded leaves marbled in cream and green on short, sturdy stems. It is a form of the radiator plant, and it stays compact and bushy.
Its leaves store water, so its care is close to a succulent's: water when the top half of the soil is dry and never leave it sitting in water. It tolerates lower light, though medium to bright, indirect light keeps the marbling crisp.
Choose a 3, 4 or 6 inch pot. It is a good desk or shelf plant for a beginner, and it rarely needs repotting. Turn it now and then so it grows evenly toward the light.
The ASPCA lists the baby rubber plant (Peperomia obtusifolia) as non-toxic to cats and dogs.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
