About this plant
Philodendron 'Brasil' is the heartleaf philodendron with a twist: every glossy, heart-shaped leaf has a splash of lime and yellow down the middle, edged in deep green. No two leaves are striped quite alike.
It grows in low light, but medium to bright, indirect light keeps the stripes bold. If new leaves come in plain green, move it closer to a window. Water when the top inch of soil is dry and let the pot drain. It grows quickly in the warm months and slows down in winter.
Let it trail from a shelf or train it up a pole. Trim long stems to keep it full, and root the cuttings in water to share.
The ASPCA lists heartleaf philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum) as toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
