About this plant

Silver Stripe is an uncommon form of the heartleaf philodendron with glossy, heart-shaped leaves brushed with silvery gray and a stripe of lime green down the center. The mix of silver and lime gives each leaf a soft, painted look.

Care is as easy as any heartleaf. Medium to bright, indirect light brings out the silver; it tolerates lower light but the pattern fades. Water when the top inch of soil is dry and let it drain.

It arrives in a 4 inch pot and trails quickly once settled, so it is lovely on a shelf, in a hanging pot or climbing a small pole. Pinch the tips to keep it full. An easy way to add something a little rare to a collection.

The ASPCA lists heartleaf philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum) as toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
