About this plant
'Fabi' is a snake plant with broad, deep green leaves so dark they read as nearly black, each one finished with a clean creamy edge. It grows upright and compact, so it holds its shape on a side table or in a narrow corner.
It handles anything from low light to a bright window, though it grows faster with more light. Water only when the soil has dried all the way through, then let the pot drain. In winter that may mean once a month. Overwatering is the one mistake it will not forgive.
Choose a 4 or 6 inch pot. It suits beginners, busy people and anyone who wants a plant that looks sharp with almost no attention.
The ASPCA lists the snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) as toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
