About this plant
'Gold Flame' grows upright leaves patterned in dark green and trimmed with yellow edges that catch the light. The leaves fan out slightly as they rise, giving the plant a full, lively outline.
Place it anywhere from a dim hallway to a bright room; it adapts to both, and more light keeps the yellow vivid. Water when the soil is fully dry, then let any excess drain away. During winter it needs very little water at all.
It comes in a 6 inch pot, a good size to anchor a console table or a sunny sill. It is a forgiving plant for offices, bedrooms and anyone new to houseplants.
The ASPCA lists the snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) as toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
