About this plant
This dwarf snake plant forms a neat rosette of short, broad leaves in solid, rich jade green. There is no striping or edging, just a clean, deep color that makes a calm accent on a crowded shelf.
It is as tough as its taller relatives. Low light suits it, and brighter indirect light keeps growth tight. Let the soil dry out completely before watering, and keep water out of the center of the rosette, where it can sit and cause rot.
It stays low and compact, so a 3 or 4 inch pot fits a desk, a bathroom shelf or a small windowsill. It is a reliable gift for someone who says they cannot keep plants alive.
The ASPCA lists the snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) as toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
From November to April, we recommend adding Winter Plant Shipping Protection (a heat pack) at checkout. Plants shipped in cold weather without it are not covered for cold damage.
